The newly formed Terrorism-Research Oxford (T-ROx) network connects scholars within the university who research the current policies, practices, and theories of all forms of terrorism, examines counter terrorism policies, and critically engages with current theories of violent extremism and radicalization. It aims to identify how research-based policies can inform government, and explores their impact and effectiveness within civil society.

Academic networks provide an ideal forum for such cross-disciplinary research, benefiting from longer time horizons, informed and novel perspectives, and the unique capacity to gather experts and scholars from a wide range of relevant disciplines and associated fields. The network offers support for substantive, evidence-based research, creating necessary synergies between projects, and assists to develop and disseminate findings.
